She could feel the guards weighing down on her flanks, shoulders, and haunches, grabbing onto fur to try and bring her down, like lions do when they hunt elephants. Tossing her head, Svenja reared up on her hind legs, and shook like a wet dog was, clawing at her own sides in an attempt to free herself from the guards climbing on her.

She was vaguely aware that Lambda had joined the fight by her side, and tried to avoid hitting him with her vicious attacks. Plunging back into the fray, massive jaws bit deep into flesh, and mighty paws shattered bone. Svenja had become a juggernaut, but she was beginning to tire, the pain of the wounds she was sustaining beginning to show in her eyes.

((You know, I should probably rate this as 'M'...))

Lambda did his best to stop the onslaught on Svenja. He raked and clawed at the guards, ignoring their shoves and kicks. Even with the strength of two other men, he was not strong enough. His species just wasn't meant for physical fights. He had only take down one man this way, and two more replaced him.

So, Lambda stepped back and looked for a good source of energy. Anything; heat, light, electricity...Anything he could channel through him like a transformer box and use against the guards. And, his upper eye spotted just what he was looking for. Usually it was closed, since the humans had a nasty habit of putting bright lights on ceilings; which is what he just needed.

Lambda held one hand to the ceiling. Nearly instantly, arcs of bright electricity connected to his hand. The fluorescent light went out, but the electricity continued coming straight through the connectors. With the remaining strength stolen from those men, he increased the voltage to dangerously high levels. In one quick movement, he lowered his hand and fired it at the guards.

Since the guards were huddled so close to eachother--or for a few, standing literally on top of eachother--the electricity went straight through the first guard and into all of them. Sadly, they were huddled around Svenja, who would also be hit by the deadly particle. Lambda himself was hit too, technically. All that electricity built up in one person was not good, even for an energy manipulator like him.

Even with Lambda doing his best to help her, Svenja remained largely unaware of the Vortigaunt aiding her, mostly because of the massive number of goons with guns piling onto her shoulders and flanks. Truly, it was by sheer luck that Lambda avoided being wounded as she lashed out at the soldiers surrounding the unlikely pair, blood splashing against the floor, walls, and ceiling.

Increasing amounts of this blood was her own, and it was clear that the were-bear juggernaut was tiring quickly, her breath coming in ragged pants between the feral roars. Holes could clearly be seen in her pelt where either gunshot wounds had penetrated, or where some clever guard had pulled a knife out, and slashed gaping mouths into Svenja's hide. Still, she was managing to stay on her feet, even as the bodies of her opponents began to pile up beneath her, the groans of the half-dead mixing with Svenja's roars.

Svenja didn't particularly notice as the lights flickered, then were extinguished. She also didn't notice the bright flash as Lambda fired off the bolt of pure electricity at the guards attacking her, so preoccupied with staying alive was she. It was rather hard to ignore, though, what followed immediately after that flash of bright light.

As the electricity flowed from the still-twitching bodies of the guards clinging to her skin into her body, Svenja felt muscles lock around her bones, freezing her in place as she began to writhe and twitch, her body no longer under her compulsion. From frozen vocal cords, a tortured sound emanated forth, the sound of stones breaking as ice breaks them asunder, the sound of a tree screaming under the kiss of lightning. Through this, her eyes were still wide open, held that way by lids that were no longer cooperating with her brain's commands. Those frozen eyes were locked onto Lambda's odd ocular organs, panic and pain clearly visible, despite the pulses of electricity.

Lambda did not realize just how injured Svenja was until he fired his deadly weapon. From his height and point of view, he saw mostly the guards and Svenja's head; everything else as obscured. But, as the convulsing guards piled around her, more and more of her was exposed. Holes, tears, and blood coated her like flesh-clothing. She was riddled with wounds the guards caused in their short reign. Her eyes met his, and for a brief moment he felt her pain. But, he had to continue; he had to make sure the guards were incapacitated or dead. His attack continued for five long seconds, then ended abruptly.

"Svenja! Svenja! Is the Svenja alright?" Lambda nearly shouted immediately after he finished his attack. He ran over the bodies of the guards to Svenja. His elongated fingers hovered over her stomach wounds, tracing them to see which needed immediate attention, and which could be ignored. Many would require some form of medical treatment, and he could not treat all of them.

"You are hurt very much...Can you run? The Lambda and the Svenja need to run fast." He said; calmer than before, but with a hint of panic and shock.

Those five seconds felt like a lifetime to the were-bear, her body no longer her own as the massive electrical rush swept effortlessly through her body. Even after the current ceased its relentless onslaught of her body's muscular systems, Svenja could barely twitch, the terrible sound dribbling from her mouth like water dripping from a faucet. It wasn't until Lambda's near-shouting reached stunned ears that she began to show signs of life again, blinking away the shock from her eyes first. Finally comprehending that the Vortigaunt was asking her if she was alright, she fixed him with a flat-eyed stare, her answer clearly visible in her eyes.

As Lambda tracked the extent of the hideous wounds she had sustained during combat, Svenja raised her head from the floor, the fur matted with the blood that was pooling on the linoleum tiling. Groaning a raspy groan, she nudged his hand away to begin licking at the worst of them, the bear's instinct to clean its own wounds overriding the human instinct to let antiseptic treatments prevail.

Hearing, and understanding clearly, Lambda's next questions, Svenja chuffed in a way that could be considered affirmative, then began to rise to all fours. Resting there for a moment, one could see that her limbs were shaking as she regained control over her muscles, and as she struggled against the pain and exhaustion. Growling softly, she shoved herself to her feet, wavering until she rested a paw-like hand against the wall. Looking down at Lambda, she nodded to him, then started loping along the corridor as best she could, nose twitching as she followed the scent of fresh air.

Svenja proceeded to lick her wounds; something it seems every animals does, even Earth ones. It wasn't exactly safe, but it cleaned all the gunk out. Lambda let her, and ran alongside the furry mass with a soft grip on her shoulder, in case she fell or had some other injury.

It seems most of the guards were dead. Not many confronted them, just a few who ran down the halls. Lambda dispatched them with a quick electric shock. They passed many rooms too; offices, a bookkeeping area, and a few of the "surgery" rooms. They turned a corner and stopped in front of three doors.

One was obviously a door to some other area of this building. It was made of steel and had a small window in it, showing another door on the other side. Whatever was past there had to be really high-security. The door to the left was also a door to another area, but this one had no windows, and was locked. The right door was wooden like all the others, and had a window that showed a white room with shelves lined with drugs. Rows upon rows of drugs; legal, sorta legal, and completely illegal. Somebody in a white coat was in there, stirring something over a mini-stove. They had to be a pharmacist or a chemist, or something similar.

Lambda wondered where they should go. The drug storage could provide help for Svenja, but spends precious time. The first door could lead to something seriously dangerous. The second door was a complete unknown, but might be less dangerous than the first...

Even though physical contact would, logically, do nothing to protect or help her should she fall, Svenja was still comforted by the presence of Lambda's hand on the furry mass of her shoulder. Growling at the few guards they happened upon, she took some measure of savage pleasure as they ran away in fear, disgust, or some combination of the two. Whatever the feeling was, it kept her moving despite the intense pain, and the growing weakness of blood loss.

Trying her best to ignore the stench coming out of some of the rooms they passed in their flight down the hallways, Svenja was beginning to rely on Lambda to guide her through the hall's twisting maze. Her own sense of direction, usually keen, had been muddled by the drugs injected previously into her system, and also by the electrocution suffered earlier.

Coming to a halt as Lambda did, Svenja snuffled at the three doors, trying to find where the fresh air was coming from. Recoiling at the smell of the drug-containing room, she started pawing at the second door, her decision made mostly on the reasoning that it would be the easiest to open.

((Naaaaah. Also, did you know that some doctors still prescribe cocaine? It's a level 2 controlled substance. Cocoa leaves are available in some places, too.))

Lambda honestly had no idea which door to go through. So, he trusted Svenja's judgement. She could smell, and was busy smelling all doors here. She had an adverse reaction to the drug-room; which he couldn't blame--he didn't like the very sight of it. Still, he had to go in there first. They needed medicine if they were going to last outside.

"Lambda will retrieve the bare essentials. Svenja should stay here." He said, then barreled into the drug room--mostly to scare the pharmacist inside. It worked. The man screamed and spilled whatever he was cooking, then scrambled onto a desk and hugged his knees. Lambda did his best to appear frightening.

"Anti-septic. Disinfectant. Bandages." He ordered. The man nodded furiously as if he was attempting to take his head off. He reached into a drawer and took out a big red bag with some words written on it. Lambda was completely illiterate; his species didn't even have a written language. All he knew is that it seemed to be two distinct words.

Lambda left the room, holding the red bag in his third arm. It was heavy, but it freed his other hands for attacks. Now to asses the second door...Lambda first tried the handle. Yep, it was locked. There was no way they could pick it; he didn't even know how. The easiest thing to do would be to take the handle off...

"Svenja, can you remove this handle?" Lambda asked and stepped out of her way.

((Murr. How...interesting. What, out of curiosity, would they prescribe it for?))

After pawing uselessly at the second door for a few moments, Svenja rested her head against the door, eyes closed as she panted, red tongue lolling out from between ivory fangs. Exhaustion was setting into her body now, and she was having a tough time upright, to say nothing of moving. Only another adrenaline rush would protect her should they face any kind of resistance as they fled the complex of white walls.

Acknowledging Lambda's command with a distinctly bear-like grunting sound, Svenja concentrated on keeping herself upright, mainly by digging massive black claws into the doorframe of the door she had chosen. Blood was beginning to pool around her feet as she heard the man's scream, and she barely looked up at the sound, her eyes beginning to glaze over.

Lifting her head from the door as Lambda left the drug-room with the red bag in his third hand, she smiled a little, shifting away awkwardly from the door as the Vortigaunt tried the handle. Seeing as he did that the door was locked tightly, she nodded to his request, unhooking her claws from the doorframe. Once Lambda was out of the way, she placed her hands against the door, then reared back, and slammed her entire, massive body weight against the door itself.

After two poundings from the were-bear, the hinges and locks of the door gave up the fight, the portal falling through with a crash. Looking somewhat pleased with herself, Svenja straightened up, then looked over her shoulder to make sure Lambda was still there. Motioning with one hand in the direction they should go, she started loping off down the newly-opened corridor.

((In the past, dentists rubbed a little bit of cocaine on your teeth to numb them before surgery. Now they use novocaine, cause it's not as addictive and doesn't make you high. But, some dentists still use cocaine cause they believe it's a better numbing agent. Cocoa leaves numb you too, and they give you that boost of energy without being so dangerous, so I can see it being used for lethargy; maybe Restless Leg Syndrome, since they prescribe pretty much anything for that. (Even antipsychotics.) My mom works as a pharmaceutical technician, so she knows this stuff and tells me all the craziness.))

Lambda held the red bag close. He would use it later, when they got a safe distance from this horrid place. He watched as Svenja tore down the door with a rather impressive tackle. He followed her and put his hand on her shoulder again to guide her down this new corridor.

This one had doors lining it, like the other. However, these doors were not surgery rooms or holding cells. These were offices, some occupied, some not. Somes rooms were full of files and ladies organizing them. One room was a break room, and next to it were two rooms with no windows, and funny little pictures of people on them. Lambda could not understand what those two rooms were for.

Soon they turned right, to a hallway that had no rooms. At the end were two staircases; one going up, and one going down. Lambda immediately chose to go up. He did not want to get trapped in some dead end underground.

((That's kind of messed up, in a number of ways...))

Feeling Lambda's hand against her shoulder again, Svenja relaxed a little, taking some form of comfort in the knowing that he was there. Even though she was still in pain, and still felt like collapsing where she stood, she felt somewhat better with the Vortigaunt close by.

Moving as quickly as she could past the offices, Svenja was dimly aware of the fact that she was leaving a trail of blood on the floors, and the walls. Her long fur was veritably dripping with the red liquid, both her own blood, and the blood of the guards she had killed. Being tracked by this obvious trail, though, was her least concern; all she wanted to do was to leave this prison-warren, and to be in the fresh air.

Following Lambda up the stairs, Svenja took a deep breath of air, her ears perking visibly as she caught a new wave of fresh air coming from above them. Nudging him with a claw-tip, she motioned up with her head, indicating that it was another flight of stairs before they would reach an exit.

((Hey, when Svenja is a human/in humanoid form, is she naked?))

Lambda watched as Svenja sniffed the air surrounding the two staircases. She motioned to the upper staircase with her head, signaling that the way out was there. She had to be smelling the fresh air, or the plants and animals on this planet. He trusted her senses and started walking up, lightly tugging on her shoulder to help her. Honestly, he needed help up the stairs too; his legs were not built for this type of movement. He had to hold onto the banister and Svenja's shoulder to keep from falling. Why couldn't there be a ramp, like on his planet?

((You know, I hadn't really thought about that. I'm guessing she was, earlier, dressed in one of those little hospital gowns, but that will have been shredded. She probably will be, then, once she shifts back.))

Feeling the repeated tugs as Lambda had to grab onto her fur to maintain his balance on the stairs, and to guide her along, Svenja paused for a moment, looking back at the Vortigaunt. Blinking slowly, she slowly dropped to all fours, looking more bear than humanoid in that moment, storm-grey eyes looking into the wells of the eternal wild.

Motioning with her head, she indicated that Lambda should clamber up onto her broad shoulders. Even though she was bleeding still, Svenja knew that she could probably navigate the stairs with the Vortigaunt on her back, and that he would be in less danger of injuring himself on the staircase. Chuffing once to get her point across, she locked eyes with Lambda, her strong will asserting itself without words.

Svenja seemed to be signaling towards her back, snorting and staring him right in his main eye. Lambda blinked and looked at her back. There weren't any wounds there, since she managed to keep her back on the wall while she was being attacked. But, his legs weren't exactly meant to work like this either. It would be hard to get one on top of her, then pull himself up.

Still, Lambda tried. He first wrapped an arm around her, making sure to steer clear of a deep gash on her side. Then he pulled himself up while hopping up at the same time. Then, quickly to minimize any damage and/or pain to his second knee, he twisted his leg around to her other side. Finally, he pushed himself up so he was sitting on her. Frankly, it felt very odd to be sitting on a shapeshifting alien.*

"Is the Svenja okay? Did the Lambda hurt her?" He asked and leaned over to peer at her face.


((*When you think about it, humans are aliens too.))

((Yup!)(Yeah, we are. We're pretty freaky, too, if you think about it enough.))

Waiting quite patiently as the ungainly Vortigaunt scrabbled onto her shoulders, Svenja stayed as still as she possibly could during the process. She didn't want a stray movement to send Lambda crashing to the floor. Still, she couldn't stop twitching for a moment as his odd feet tickled the guard hairs on her flanks, a twitch of a smile crossing her face.

Looking up as Lambda began speaking near her ear, Svenja raised her head a little, meeting the Vortigaunt's main eye again. "Lambda no hurt," she grunted after a moment of deliberation. Her voice was rougher now, rasping and full of pain, and it was unlikely that she would speak again in the near future. The process of vocalization had seemed painful even without the wounds; now, injured as she was, speaking seemed like torture for the were-bear.

Giving Lambda a moment to dig his fingers into her long fur, Svenja remained on all fours as she began to climb up the stairs again. Walking this way seemed almost easier for her at the moment, the extra two feet on the ground giving her added balance.

After a few minutes of climbing stairs, she reached a landing with a metal door with a thin strip of frosted, chicken wire-impregnated glass along the edge of the door itself. Pausing at this portal into the outside world, Svenja sniffed the air, judging that this was, in fact, the door that would take them outside. Looking over her shoulder at her passenger, she seemed to be asking wordlessly if he was ready.

((Bleehhh....I gotta get my wisdom teeth pulled. They're impacted. So, if I ever respond like I'm high, it's probably cause I am. Not on illegal stuff, tho.))

Lambda waited for Svenja to respond to his question. It seemed to take a minute for her to prepare, and when she spoke, he realized why. He will only ask her things in moments of dire emergency.

When they came to the door to the outside, Lambda felt hope. Finally, they were free! He reached over to open the door. Surprisingly, it was open. He pushed it as wide as he could, then nodded to Svenja to continue.

((Aw, dude! I'm sorry... That's gotta suck...)(Just as a warning, I'm fangirling over the Dune saga at the moment, so if I start bugging you about that, I'm sorry in advance.))

Bending her knees slightly to allow Lambda to reach the gleaming silver of the door handle, Svenja waited as patiently as she could for the portal to open. Ears twitching slightly as they were tickled by movement near them, she waited until Lambda was entirely balanced before moving through the open door, and out into the real world.

Immediately, the sensory input that was a constant bombardment on Svenja's senses changed much of its cast. From the feel of loose gravel underneath her paw-hands and feet, to the scent of a distant storm, the were-bear was keenly aware of the difference this place offered.

Drawing her focus back from scanning the area, Svenja angled herself towards the forest that was surprisingly close to the cursed building they had emerged from. Looking over her shoulder at Lambda, she locked eyes with his main eye again, this time asking if he would like to stay on her back, or if he would rather run alongside her.

((Not really. It'll help me get over my anxiety of surgery and dentists.))

Lambda looked around as much as his head and multiple eyes would allow. They were on a gravel 'lot' of sorts, with a forest to the left, and the rest of the complex to the right. Much of it was underground, as he suspected.

When Svenja stopped and looked at him, Lambda started to climb off. Riding her was very...awkward. He would rather run. He climbed off as fast as possible and hopped to the ground. The gravel dug into the soft spot of his foot, but he ignored it.

"Let's go to the forest." He said.

Lowering her bleeding body to the ground as Lambda attempted to climb off of her back, Svenja remained there until she was absolutely sure the Vortigaunt was off of her back. Straightening onto her hind legs, she looked down at him as he spoke, then nodded. It had been her intention to move in that direction, for more than one reason. The need to hide, however, dominated both reasons for heading into the forest, in hiding from the guards of the facility behind them, and hiding her injuries from the rest of the world.

Deciding that prompt action was what would keep herself alive, Svenja grunted her agreement, and limped in the direction of the woodland's welcoming depths. Pausing at the forest's edge to look for signs of activity from the facility's many entrances, the were-bear slipped into the embrace of the forest, passing out of the sight of the glass-eyed cameras of the laboratory behind the unlikely pair.

As she half-limped, half-padded, through the woods, Svenja's sides were heaving, and her entire body was soaked with sweat and blood. She was looking desperately for somewhere where she could collapse, somewhere where she might be able to hide for a precious time, and recover to some degree.

Trudging through the forest, the dappled light offering sporadic views of her torn pelt, she found what she was looking for in the form of a cave, its entrance partially hidden behind the undergrowth. Sticking her head into the hole, she growled once, the sound chasing out an irate marmot, before crawling in. Despite the tight entrance, the cave was surprisingly roomy inside, with space enough for Svenja's bulk, Lambda, and space for them to move, as well.

Flopping in the back of the den-cave she had so luckily found, Svenja's tongue lolled out over her teeth, a slab of red meat between ivory bars. Suddenly, her bulk began to convulse violently, storm-grey eyes slamming shut in a futile effort to block out the pain. Just as painfully as she had first transformed, Svenja's body began to shrink back to that of a humanoid, bones breaking and shrinking with sickening cracks. Within a few, terrible, and agonizing, moments, the form of the bear had shrunken into the body of the humanoid Svenja, her eyes glazed and fluttering. Her body was covered in the same wounds her larger form had sustained, the ruby mouths gaping along her sides.

((I'm going out to eat for my b-day! It's early, tho. My actual birthday is six days from now.))

Svenja waited until Lambda was fully off of her back, then gave a grunt or a growl and started loping through the forest. He followed, first pausing to see if anyone was watching them. No one was. He would bet his vortal input that someone will later.

They moved through the forest at a medium pace, and Svenja seemed to be slowing. He put his hand on her shoulder again and slowly guided her in a straight path. They soon came to a hole in the ground, formerly occupied by a small furred animal. (Svenja scared it away with one roar. This form of hers must be a terrifying predator on Earth.) Then they climbed into the darkened hole, big enough for both of them, and some moving room. He had to crouch awkwardly with his legs splayed out in front of him.

As soon as they got in, Svenja started to...shrink. Lambda watched in awe as first the fur disappeared, then the large bulk, her muzzle, her claws, only to be replaced by hair, a face, larger and less mammary glands, hands, and feet. Only the wounds stayed, perfectly proportional to this smaller form. At the end of this, Svenja seemed exhausted and ready to fall unconscious. Lambda would have to work fast.

Lambda opened the red bag. It was full of medical tools, all sectioned off into small holes in the bag's fabric. The top lid was covered in small plastic bags, sticky tape, some scalpels, and two full packages of bandages. Lambda took out the bandages, then two bottles full of clear liquid. They both had different labels. He opened the first one, stuck his finger in it, then let the drop fall onto his tongue. It tastes disgusting. Pure alcohol. He thought. He filled the cap with that, then poured it onto the bandages.

"This will sting, but do not be alarmed. It will heal you." Lambda said and started to dab the bandages onto the wounds to clean them.

((Congratulations, dude! *hugs*))

Watching the Vortigaunt through half-opened eyes, Svenja wasn't quite sure what was going on, the pain from her wounds, and from her transformation, twisting her perception of what was real. She was, however, dimly aware of the fact that she was starting to feel cold, the remains of her fur coat along her forearms and spine fluffing out in a pitiable attempt to conserve body heat. Shivering, a tiny mewl of pain crossed her lips, the sound a complete opposite of what the humanoid female could become at a moment's notice.

Her attention was maneuvered away from her pain, though, when Lambda began talking to her. Alert enough to understand what he was saying, but not feeling good enough to answer verbally, Svenja attempted a nod, before wincing as the pain of moving reminded her to stay still. Even with the small movement of the nod, cuts and gashes along her neck and shoulders had split open again, fresh blood oozing onto her already-crimsoned skin.

Steeling herself as much as she could for the touch of the bandages, the were-bear couldn't help but whimper as the alcohol stung the raw flesh. Eyes watering with barely-withheld tears, she buried her face in her hands as best as she could, partially to distract herself from the pain, and partially so that Lambda couldn't see her cry.

((Yep. *hugs* We went to macaroni grill. I had calamari, a caesar salad, and Pasta di Mare; mussels, scallops, and shrimp with some linguini noodles and a wine sauce. It was goooood.))

Lambda did his best to delicately apply the alcohol and brush away any gunk. It was hard, but he did his best, with a very steady hand. He cleaned the largest of wounds, and used some dry bandages to brush the smaller ones and clear the alcohol away when he was done. It took some time.

When he was finished, he put the alcohol away and looked back in the first aid kit. He took the fabric bandages and the adhesive tape, rolling out as much as he possibly could. He tore the tape off in small strips and put them on the edge of the fabric bandages, then carefully wrapped them around Svenja's wounds. He did it as tight and painless as possible, then taping them on. When he was done, Svenja looked like a roll of fabric after that. Nearly all of her chest, stomach, arms, and legs were covered. Miraculously, her face was wound-free, minus a few minor cuts. Lambda went back to the red bag and searched for some type of pain-relief.

He found three different bottles of pills. Two were white plastic and had some sort of label on them. The last one was transparent orange with a white top that would not open. He tried his best to open it, but his fingers couldn't work with this type of top. Plus, he had no idea what any of the pills were. They could be antibiotics, penicillin, allergy relief, or the painkillers he was looking for.

"Um...Can the Svenja read these labels?" Lambda asked, holding all three up to her with all his arms.

Deciding, somewhat illogically, that things would hurt less if she closed her eyes against the world, Svenja had spent the time of bandaging with her eyes clamped shut. Every so often, a solitary tear would leak forth, the tiny droplets soaking into the cave's earthen floor. By the time that Lambda had finally finished with the bandages, the section of floor the were-bear's head was resting on was soaked.

Lifting her head from the ground as she heard Lambda say her name, Svenja blinked to clear her tear-and-pain-blurred vision. "Maybe," she rasped, her voice raw from the roars. Wiping a bit of mud off of her nose, she looked at the bottles for a moment, reading the labels. "That one," she said after a moment, poking at one of the bottles with a bloodied finger. Sinking back to the ground, her eyes half-closed again, Svenja tasted blood in her mouth, remnants of her devoured kills. Nearly retching at the taste as she remembered where it would have had to come from, she buried her face in her hands, weeping openly now for the pain, for the shock of transformation, and for the realization of what she had done.

Lambda waited for Svenja to get up and read the labels. She looked at all of them, then pointed to one, leaving a tiny blood mark on it. He took that bottle and opened it, taking out four of the white tablets. That seemed like a good amount, not too much, and not too little. Hopefully they would make Svenja drowsy too, so that she could get some peace.

Lambda put the other pills away and took out the second clear bottle. This one was water; he tasted it to be sure, too. A bit stale, but clean. Lambda handed the pills and the water to Svenja carefully, "Take these and sleep. The Lambda will keep watch." He instructed.

Tasting blood and bile in her mouth, Svenja wiped at her tongue, shuddering at the half-memories she possessed of the escape. The full memories would come later, in all of their horror and guilt, but she was spared that agony for the moment. Shuddering for a moment more, she took a deep breath, and turned slightly to face her companion in the cave.

Meeting Lambda's many eyes as he handed her four of the pills from the bottle she had chosen, along with water, Svenja reached out with bandaged hands, taking what he offered. Taking two of the pills, she nodded at his command to relax, rearranging herself as best she could. "Okay," she whispered, eyelids closing over pain-wracked grey eyes.
